Montana will issue marriage certificates to active-duty members of the U.S. Military who are unable to physically attend a marriage ceremony. Just because you have to wait to see your loved one, doesn't mean you should have to wait to be married.

Although Montana is the only state that allows a double proxy marriage to be performed, the legal marriage is recognized by all 50 states, all branches of the military and government. In fact, the marriage certificate is exactly the same one you would receive in person. The ONLY difference is that your signatures will be authorized by one of the proxies.
How long will the process take? We pride ourselves on our service and know that we provide the fastest turn around for your double proxy marriage. Here at Armed Forces Proxy Marriages, we receive several calls from our military men and women who are expecting a baby soon. We recently had a call from Vanessa who is 5 months pregnant with her first baby. Her fiance, Joe, is deployed in Afghanistan and unable to get home for a wedding. Vanessa and her new baby need the insurance for well-baby care and she would like to be married before the baby (a girl she thinks) is born. Due to our double proxy law here in Montana, we are able to get them married within a few weeks time. A double proxy marriage allows two other people to “stand in” for Vanessa and Joe.
